This 7-Day Christmas in Egypt lets you unwrap the gift of history, culture, and comfort—where every moment is designed to make your Egypt travel package.
Your 7-Day Egypt New Year Tour begins once you land at Cairo International Airport. One of the friendly representatives of Around Egypt Tours shall meet you in the baggage area and assist you through customs and luggage formalities. Enjoy a comfortable private transfer to your hotel, where you may rest after your tiring journey.
After a delicious breakfast, prepare yourself and get set for an unforgettable journey backward through time into Giza's ancient splendor. Your professional Egyptologist will take you through the Giza Plateau, where the three Great Pyramids of Cheops, Chephren, and Mykerinos have been set up as the most celebrated landmarks of Egypt. It is time to stand awestruck before the enigmatic Sphinx—a symbol of power and wisdom—and also exalt in visiting the Valley Temple, where ancient kings were once mummified.
After lunch at a fine local restaurant, your day proceeds with the visit of the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM)—Egypt's newest, grandest cultural landmark. Recently opened, GEM proudly displays the largest collection of Egyptian antiquities in the world, including the treasures of Tutankhamun, displayed fully together for the very first time in history. Walk through the great halls and admire the craftsmanship of ancient Egypt all around!
After breakfast, transfer to Cairo Airport for the flight to Aswan, the gateway to the south of Egypt.
Upon arrival at Aswan, the guide will be welcomed, and the day shall be commenced with a tour to the High Dam—one of the great modern works controlling the flow of the Nile and creating Lake Nasser. Get introduced to its historical significance and developments brought about in Egypt by its existence.
The next stop is the Philae Temple, one of the most magical sites in Egypt, dedicated to the goddess Isis. It was moved to Agilkia Island. Wander the courtyards, admire the reliefs, and absorb the serene aura of this island sanctuary.
After sightseeing, board your Nile Cruise, your floating hotel for the days to come. Enjoy a lovely lunch and relax on the sun deck while observing the Nile glistening with gold reflections at sunset over Aswan. Another beautiful evening in the 7-Day Egypt at Christmas Time.
Wake up to the soothing sound of the Nile waters while your cruise is sailing north toward Kom Ombo, the splendid temple dedicated to two deities: Sobek, the crocodile god, and Horus the Elder, the falcon god.
After lunch on board, continue sailing to Edfu and, from there, ride in a horse-drawn carriage to the splendid Temple of Horus, among the finest-preserved temples in Egypt. Then, head back to your cruise for dinner and enjoy the celebrations that are underway as you head to Luxor.
After breakfast, cross over to Luxor West Bank, a place full of ancient tombs and royal mysteries. Begin with a Valley of the Kings tour, where the most powerful pharaohs of Egypt, including the world-famous King Tutankhamun, were laid to rest for eternity. Step into a few of the elaborately decorated tombs and behold the bright scenes of the afterlife.
Next is the magnificent mortuary temple of Queen Hatshepsut, an unusual tomb dedicated to the most successful female Pharaoh of Egypt. Have an unforgettable photo stop at the Colossi of Memnon—the two gigantic statues that have been watching over Thebes for more than 3,400 years. Later, disembark and check into your hotel at Luxor for a relaxed evening.
Following breakfast, your Luxor exploration commences with visits to the Karnak Temple Complex. Thereafter, explore the Luxor Temple, beautifully situated in the heart of the city and connected to Karnak via the Avenue of Sphinxes.
Later in the day, proceed to the airport for your flight back to Cairo. Upon arrival, you will check into your hotel, followed by a free evening to explore modern Cairo nightlife or purchase last-minute Christmas gifts.
Enjoy your final breakfast in Egypt as your 7-Day Egypt at Christmas Time tour comes to an end, marking the perfect conclusion to your unforgettable Egypt tour.
