Your trip opens up upon your arrival at Kotoka International Airport in Accra. A representative from Around Egypt Tours will be waiting for you and will take you to your hotel in a private, air-conditioned car. After settling in at Tang Palace Hotel (or an equivalent lodging), unwind a bit after your flight. In the evening, savor a welcome dinner at a restaurant, where you will be introduced to the thrilling escapade that lies ahead.
Accra, a city mixing modern energy with deep historical roots, is the first stop of your day with a guided tour. The visit to the Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park, which was built in honor of Ghana’s first president, is followed by the admiration of the Black Star Square and the Independence Arch, which are both symbols of the country’s freedom. The tour then takes you to the lively Makola Market, where local sellers present brilliant textiles, crafts, and fresh produce. Today, one of the most important cultural practices in Ghana, an Asante Naming Ceremony, will be your guide. You will be dressed in traditional clothes and will be given an Akan name by the elders in a ceremony that will be held full of music, dance, and storytelling. This experience is very important, as it ties you to the ancient traditions of Ghana. Following the ceremony, you will have a local lunch and then you will have a whole afternoon to visit an artisan village where you will see the talented artists making Kente cloth, beadwork, and wooden sculptures.
Leave the city behind and venture to the tranquil Aburi Botanical Gardens, a peaceful and rich paradise with rare plants and high trees, waiting for you. Enjoy a guided walk in the gardens and know all about the unique flora of the area. After this, go to a cocoa farm and learn the interesting story of chocolate making from harvesting cocoa pods to fermenting and drying. Try a piece of fresh cocoa and come to know one of the best exports of Ghana before coming back to Accra.
Cape Coast will be your next stop, a city with an enormous historical impact. Say goodbye to Ghana as you take a flight to Cairo, Egypt. Upon arrival at Cairo International Airport, a representative from Around Egypt Tours will assist you through immigration and escort you to your hotel in a private vehicle. Enjoy a relaxing evening.
After your breakfast, a private Egyptologist guide will take you to the legendary Giza Plateau, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. You will be amazed by the Great Pyramid of Khufu, along with the Pyramids of Khafre and Menkaure.
After the pyramids, visit the Great Sphinx, who for a long time has been the mysterious protector of the Giza Necropolis, and subsequently go to the Valley Temple, which was the place of the mummification rituals.
As part of your tour, you will enjoy a 15-minute free camel ride at the Giza pyramids that will give you the chance to experience the desert in a classic way while seeing the pyramids from a wonderful viewpoint.
Then, a high-class Egyptian restaurant will be your next stop for lunch. There, you will taste local dishes before going to the Egyptian Museum, which is as famous as the world. After having your breakfast, you will be picked up and taken to the Cairo Airport for your flight to Luxor. Luxor is often referred to as the world's greatest open-air museum. A representative will meet you upon your arrival and take you to your opulent Nile River cruise that will be your residence for the next four nights.
After lunch on the cruise, you will start your visit to the East Bank of Luxor. The first site you will visit is Karnak Temple, which is the largest religious complex in the ancient world, consisting of towering columns, massive statues, and the stunning Hypostyle Hall.
Your next site will be the Luxor Temple, which is an impressive building dedicated to the god Amun, with remarkable statues and carvings that are thousands of years old.
You will go back to your cruise for dinner on board while you enjoy the stunning views of the Nile.
This morning, take a ferry across the Nile to Luxor’s West Bank, which is the location of some of the most remarkable archaeological sites in Egypt.
First, go to the Valley of the Kings, where many pharaohs have been buried, and among them was King Tutankhamun. Visit some of the tombs that have exceptional decorations, and ancient hieroglyphs are seen as the narrators of those lost times.
Following this, make a trip to the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut, which is a stunning piece of architecture dedicated to the most famous female ruler of Egypt. Afterward, visit the Colossi of Memnon, two gigantic statues that had once been the protectors of a big mortuary temple.
The cruise departs for Edfu after lunch, giving you the opportunity to get a sunbath on the deck while enjoying the charming views of the Nile River.
After breakfast, a horse-drawn carriage will take you to Edfu Temple. This temple was erected in honor of the falcon god Horus and is the most unscathed of all temples in Egypt, showcasing the artistic reliefs and enormous pillars.
Then, by sailing, you will continue to Kom Ombo, where you will visit the Temple of Sobek and Horus. It is an exceptional double temple that was erected for the two gods—Sobek, the god of crocodiles, and Horus, the god of falcons.
You will, after that, get back to the ship, and an entertainment evening will be there for you as you continue to sail to Aswan.

Visit the fabulous Philae temple, which was venerating Isis, the goddess of love and magic. It was moved to Agilkia Island so that it could escape the floodwaters that were going to be caused by the Aswan High Dam.

On the final day of your Ghana and Egypt Travel Package, it is advisable to avoid booking any outgoing international flights before 3:00 pm. You may also consider extending your stay in Ghana or Egypt. Our Tour Leader is happy to assist you with arranging additional accommodation and transfers if required.

- Children under 6 years old: Pay 25% of the adult rate when sharing a room with their parents and using an extra bed.

To ensure you secure the Ghana and Egypt Travel Package at the desired time, we recommend making a reservation early. To confirm your booking, a deposit of 25% is required. During peak seasons like Christmas and New Year, the deposit increases to 50%. This deposit will go toward your final payment, which is due one week before arrival or in cash upon arrival.
We offer a convenient installment payment option, allowing you to spread the cost of your Ghana Travel Package over 6, 9, or 12 months. You can pay the remaining balance upon arrival in Ghana using cash or a credit/debit card. Alternatively, you can choose to pay the full amount in monthly installments before your trip begins.
Tipping is a common way of showing appreciation for exceptional service, although it is not mandatory. It is often seen as a gesture to acknowledge the dedication and effort of service providers. However, it's important to note that tipping should not replace an employer's obligation to provide fair compensation.
In the event of canceling your Ghana and Egypt Travel Package, the following charges apply:
- 61+ days before arrival: 10% of the total price.
- 31-60 days before arrival: 20% of the total price.
- 15-30 days before arrival: 50% of the total price.
- 1-14 days before arrival: 100% of the total price.
